LFNAlias Version 1.0

User Guide
Links Created During Installation
The LFNAlias Version 1.0 Setup Wizard creates the following shell links for each user for which the LFNAlias Version 1.0 application is installed (i.e. If you install LFNAlias Version 1.0 for all users on a given computer, the following shell links are created for every user account on that computer. If you install the LFNAlias Version 1.0 for one specific user only, the shell links are created for that user only):
File's path Typical Path(s) Link Name
User specific, Windows Desktop path C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Desktop LFNAlias (English).lnk
User specific, Windows Start Menu path\LFNAlias C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Start Menu\Programs\LFNAlias LFNAlias (English).lnk
User specific, Windows Start Menu path\LFNAlias C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Start Menu\Programs\LFNAlias LFNAlias Help (English).lnk
User specific, Windows Start Menu path\LFNAlias C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Start Menu\Programs\LFNAlias LFNAlias Help (printer friendly version, English)
Note, that the file extension ".lnk" (without the quotation marks) is never displayed in Windows Explrer, even if configured to display all file extensions, including those of hidden and system files.
Note also, that the typical paths given above, are those under 32-bit Windows editions prior to Windows Vista (e.g. Windows XP, etc.). One of the main purposes of the LFNAlias application is to locate exactly these "special" folders under any (supported) Windows version and edition.
