LFNAlias Version 1.0

User Guide
The LFNAlias OK to Go Online Dialog
Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.930
Dialog that is displayed whenever LFNAlias requires access to the Internet to complete the requested action/operation. Its purpose is to prevent that LFNAlias can access the Internet without your knowledge and consent.
Unless suppressed, the OK to Go Online Dialog is displayed as a consequence of having selected/clicked either the LFNALias Home Page or Check for Updates menu item in the Main Menu's Help Menu.

Warning Icon
Warning Icon Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.931
Graphic that symbolizes that the dialog constitutes a warning.
The warning icon can vary in look, color, and size, depending on the Windows version/edition and the system/display settings under which LFNAlias is being run. Under most, more recent Windows versions it consists of a black exclamation mark, on a yellow, triangular background.
The icon depicted in Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.931 is that shown under Windows Vista, using high resolution, colour display settings.

The Dialog Text
Dialog Text 1 Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.932
Describes what caused the dialog to be displayed and asks you how you would like to proceed. It also provides information on the effects of closing the dialog by the two available buttons.
However, because the dialog is triggered by more than one event, the dialog text will vary, depending on which menu item caused it to be displayed. It can therefore be either that shown in Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.932 (above) or that in Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.933 (below).
Dialog Text 2 Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.933
Note, that unlike the buttons at the bottom of the dialog, the Dialog Text is always in the language of the installed version of LFNAlias (in this case, English).

Suppress this Dialog Check Box
Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.934 Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.935
If this check box is checked (as in Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.935) when the dialog is closed, the dialog will be suppresed. That is, it will no longer be displayed when the LFNALias Home Page or Check for Updates menu item is selected/clicked.
As long as this check box is not checked (as in Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.934) when it is closed, the dialog will be displayed.
Whether the OK to Go Online Dialog is/should be displayed (or not) can also be configured and/or determined on the Dialogs Tab Sheet of the Preferences Dialog.

Yes Button
Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.937
Closes the OK to Go Online Dialog.
When the dialog is closed by means of this button, LFNAlias will subsequently attempt to establish a connection to the Internet and, depending on which menu item caused the dialog to be displayed, open either the LFNAlias home or update page.
Note, that the caption of this button is always in the language of the user interface of the operating system (i.e. Windows) and not in the language of the installed version of LFNAlias.

No Button
Fig. 2.1.1.2.2.1.0.938
Prevents LFNAlias from going online and closes the dialog.
Note, that the caption of this button is always in the language of the user interface of the operating system (i.e. Windows) and not in the language of the installed version of LFNAlias.
